The first week is over. I spent it with DH (darling husband) in NYC where he lives for his job. It was a busy week filled with Broadway, movies and holiday lights. We'll discuss later.
Right now let's do the accountability for the first week.
1. Buy only essentials in 2017. (And for the record, I consider travel and "experiences" essential)
I did pretty well on this. In New York City. The only superfluous thing I bought was an ornament when we went to see the Rockettes. Every year we buy an ornament for our tree that reflects our year!
2. Exercise a total of 3 hours a week. ( I would love an exercise buddy or two if you are interested)
I wish I had been better with this but I did do 22 miles according to Fitbit so I will count that as a good start!
3. Practice a new skill 1 hour a week. (There are several things I have been meaning to learn to do and this is my chance!)
I was really excited about this!! Started with youtube videos about crochet. Always wanted to do this and now I am learning how!!
4. Write a letter and blog once a week.
5. Deep clean one area per month. First up~ guest room. Expect pictures!
Been out of town so this starts this week ~
6.Turn downsizing into $5000. ( I am looking into eBay valet if anyone has any experience)
Figuring out a plan. Please write any suggestions in the comments.
7. Get rid of 1000 things.
Been out of town so this starts this week ~
8 Read 75 Books in 52 weeks (you can follow that on my goodreads feed)
Follow me on Goodreads to see how this progresses. Finished "What she left Behind" by Ellen Marie Wiseman
9. Track hours spent on reading/computer/tv.
Not done
10. Twelve house projects in twelve months.
Been out of town so this starts this week ~
11. Credit card debt free by the end of the year.(this is YUGE!)
Paid off one credit card this month already!
12. Memorize one poem a month.
Bought a used copy of :Committed to Memory, Edited by poet John Hollander this group of classic, celebrated poems serve to emphasize the pleasure of memorization and recitation. Used Amazon points so no cost.
